The Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers was founded by a group of officers within the Los Angeles City Police Service in 1971. Their hope was to promote fellowship amongst Christian officers within the department and to provide support for peace officers and peace officer families as needs arose. Today the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers U.S.A. has a membership of about 4000 who have formed Chapters across the United States.

The Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers - Canada was founded in Canada in 1983 following a joint meeting between the US-FCPO and a number of interested officers in Canada. Canadian officers has become associate members of the US organization and it was decided at that time Canada should have its own entity. A Head Office was set up in Tillsonburg, Ont. and they began to reach out to officers across Canada with the message of FCPO.Today, FCPO Canada has a membership of about 1300 with new member applications coming into head office on a weekly basis.

The Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers - Canada joined forces with with The Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers - USA following hurrincane Katerina. Our focus was on Gulf Port, Mississippi and their local police service. The Gulf Port Police Service and its members had suffered great loss as a result of the storm and our intention was to try and bring a normalcy to life for them a quickly as possible while allowing them to continue to do their jobs of protecting the public of Gulf Port.

Over the course of a two year period we organized various groups of police officers, fire fighters and others who made their way to Gulf Port, Mississippi to help these members of the police and fire service. Jointly we are pleased to say that during that time we assisted in rebuilding, remodeling or reclaiming 61 homes. Efforts like this one demonstrate that not only does the brotherhood of policing know no boundries, the brotherhood of Christian peace officers knows no boundries.

In 2008 following this effort, a joint FCPO USA/Canada Christian Peace Officers conference was held in Regina, Saskatchewan, hosted by the Saskatchewan Chapter of FCPO and ties were strenghtened even further. The event was a great success and a great vote of thanks goes to the Regina members of the organizing committee.
